Hu Hengyue

 

Graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York with a bachelor's degree in illustration design. She is currently a freelance artist and illustrator, and an art therapist and sound bowl healer in training.

 

She is now pursuing a master's degree in art therapy at the School of Visual Arts while continuing her own artistic creation (book creation, fiber art, crafting, mixed media art, and etc.). In her journey of actively exploring, expressing, healing and cultivating the inner self, she feels the connection and interaction between her heart and all the beings in the universe, and learns to listen to and believe in all the magic and miracles of love in the journey of life.

In her first year of graduate school, as an intern art therapist in a non-profit mental health outpatient clinic in New York, Hu Hengyue provided individual art therapy and counseling services to people from diverse backgrounds and ages, including children, adolescents with traumatic experiences, and adult with schizophrenia. Currently, as an intern art therapist in another non-profit organization in New York, she provides trauma-formed care and support through art therapy and psychological counseling for women, children, adolescents, marginalized individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence and gender-based violence. She has co-led more than 30 art therapy groups. She has been deeply inspired and empowered by the unique life energy and resilience of each client she has supported on the healing journey of returning to their authentic selves and original source of love through creativity. She will continue to practice returning to her authentic self, exploring ways to help more people awaken, activate, connect with and transmit the energy of love and truth with creativity, love, sincerity and care.
